Tony Khan on Jade Cargill’s Exit: “She Is Always Welcome Here”

Jade Cargill with the TBS Championship

Following today’s announcement of Jade Cargill‘s move to WWE, AEW Founder Tony Khan has shared his thoughts on the matter.

The signing had been expected for quite some time due to Cargill being removed from AEW’s roster last week.

Her last AEW appearance was in a losing effort to Kris Statlander on the September 15th edition of AEW Rampage. The match was awarded a respectful 7.24/10 on cagematch.net, standing as Jade Cargill’s highest-rated performance to date.

In a media call aimed at promoting AEW WrestleDream this weekend, Tony Khan was asked about Cargill’s move to WWE. Khan did not hesitate to speak favourably about the former AEW wrestler.

“I have only positive things to say about Jade.”

“It’s been great having her in AEW. She is always welcome here.”

“She’s had a great run with us and has a great career, I’m sure, in front of her. We’re wishing her the best in the future.”

The news of Jade Cargill’s signing has been met with fanfare within World Wrestling Entertainment. WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H commented on the news of Jade Cargill’s addition to the WWE roster earlier today.

In a tweet from his @TripleH account, Triple H said the following;

“A dominant athlete who’s here to change the game…

Join me in welcoming the newest @WWE Superstar, @Jade_Cargill, to the @WWEUniverse.”

Following the major announcement, Cargill had her first interview as a WWE signee with The Ringer Wrestling Show.

Jade Cargill: AEW’s Longest Reigning Champion

Jade Cargill leaves All Elite Wrestling as their longest-reigning champion across all divisions.

After becoming the first-ever TBS Champion on the January 6th, 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite, Cargill held the championship for a staggering 508 days.

She was eventually toppled by Kris Statlander at Double or Nothing 2023.
