Jade Cargill has been crowned the first-ever TBS Champion after defeating Ruby Soho.
After a hard-fought back and fourth contest Jade Cargill saw off the challenge of Ruby Soho to remain undefeated and claim the TBS Championship. Cargill had used her power advantage early on, attempting to injure Soho’s arm. However, the former WWE star was never going to quit.
Not even a brief interference from Mercedes Martinez, who was chased off by Thunder Rosa could slow the determined Soho. The match even saw Cargill’s manager Mark Sterling ejected from ringside, but the undefeated star was not to be denied.
The end of the match came when Cargill landed ‘Jaded’ from the middle rope, planting Soho in the middle of the ring.

The creation of the TBS Championship was announced back on October 6th, on the second-anniversary of AEW Dynamite. The new title belt was unveiled by Tony Schiavone and Aubrey Edwards, along with the news that there would be a 12-woman tournament to crown the inaugural champion.
It was confirmed that the tournament would culminate on the January 5th episode of Dynamite, the first to be broadcast on TBS.
Due to her short time in the company at that point resulting in a low ranking, Ruby Soho entered the tournament in the first round, while Jade Cargill was entered in the quarter finals.
In order to get to the final, Soho defeated Penelope Ford, Kris Statlander and Nyla Rose. Cargill by contrast overcame Red Velvet and Thunder Rosa. However, her victory over Rosa was the source of great controversy as she received more than a little helping hand from a debuting Mercedes Martinez.
