Kenny Omega Blasts Controversial Former WCW Star

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega makes it clear that there’s no love loss between AEW and one particular WCW star.

Odds are that Disco Inferno will likely not be a hidden character on “AEW Fight Forever” as the former WCW Crusierweight Champion hasn’t been afraid to voice his opinion on the modern wrestling product no matter what the promotion may be. Inferno got his eyes on a recent clip from Cinderella 2023 where AZM did an amazing yet dangerous looking headscissors spot to Hazuki on from the apron to the floor. Disco asked about the spot in a Tweet and tagged Omega and Dave Meltzer to see if they’d be willing to “condemn this as unsafe and potentially deadly?”

Omega evidently wasn’t going to do that, but did take a jab at Disco’s knowledge of joshi wrestling and the rumors of Disco being humiliated back in his WCW days.

“I knew that years of huffing Big Show’s farts left you a bit slow but how do you explain the ignorance?”

Kenny Omega Isn’t The Only Modern Star To Take Digs At Disco Inferno

Who knows if rumors of Big Show ribbing Disco with blasts of gas is just “hot air,” but they did start from a Twitter exchange with Eddie Kingston. Disco Inferno being vocal in his opinion on today’s modern wrestling hasn’t created any new friendships. Back in 2018, way before AEW or ALL IN took off, former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes had some choice words for Inferno after he made the claim that wrestlers today didn’t know how to work anymore.

Stop. You know nothing. You have drawn 0 dollars. No fan has ever left a show thinking about you. You were lucky to be a juiced up double-lifer “over with the boys” type in an era where you hid in plain sight coasting on others’ success. Couldn’t hang then, can’t get booked now.

Omega also had a previous exchange with Disco before after he questioned the popularity of talent in STARDOM.
