Kenny Omega Calls Out Disco Inferno Following STARDOM Comments

Kenny Omega has taken former WCW star Disco Inferno to task following his controversial comments about the Japanese STARDOM promotion.

The conversation about women’s wrestling was reignited by Becky Lynch’s recent comments on Featured Cut Of The Day where she stated her belief that WWE’s women’s division was superior to AEWs:

“I wish I could say ‘yes,’ but, unfortunately, I don’t think they are represented the way we are, they don’t get as much time as we get and frankly, they’re not as good as we are.”

“We have, certainly on Raw, we have the best women’s division in the world. I say that without any hesitation in my voice. We have the best women’s division in the world.”

Dave Meltzer added to the conversation by stating that Japanese Joshi promotion STARDOM has the best women’s wrestling in the world. Disco Inferno took issue with that on social media posting a clip from a recent match while asking “Didn’t Dave say these were the best women’s wrestlers?”

This caused former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega to respond on social media, cutting Disco Inferno down to size as he wrote:

“It’s pretty sickening that un-athletic enhancement talents of yesteryear are trying to tear down incredibly gifted stars of today. BTW, this clip and both these gals rule.”

Kenny Omega is seen by many as responsible for the sizable Japanese influence in the AEW women’s division with the likes of Riho, Emi Sakura, Hikaru Shida, and Yuka Sakazaki among those from the country that are part of the company.
