Injured WWE Star “Returning Shortly”

WWE logo over roster

Tommaso Ciampa hasn’t wrestled on WWE television since last August, and his most recent bout inside a WWE ring took place at a September 17th live event where he lost a United States Championship bout against Bobby Lashley.

Shortly thereafter, the former NXT Champion underwent surgery on his hip. Back in March, he took to social media to provide a positive update on his recovery, writing about his stem cell treatments and his goal to get back inside the ring as well as be able to play with his young daughter.

Today was my final stem cell treatment.

They have this awesome tradition at @bioxcellerator where you write what you are hoping to achieve on your stem cell bag.

I wrote “dance with buddies” which is Willow’s term for wrestling, and “play tag” because it breaks my heart that I can’t run and play with my 4 year old.

130 million cells via IV

190 million cells via intraarticular (ankles, knees, hips, shoulders)

40 million cells via intradiscal (lumbar spine, facets, SI joints)

360 million stem cells in total. Let’s heal! 🖤

Tommaso Ciampa Was Backstage At WWE Raw On May 29th

According to a report from PWInsider Elite, Ciampa was backstage in Albany, NY during the May 29th episode of Monday Night Raw. An update from PWInsider Elite notes that he is “expected to be returning shortly.”

The report comes after an on-screen tease from members of The Way that Ciampa could be on his way back to reunite with the group. On the May 9th episode of Raw, Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Dexter Lumis, and Indi Hartwell all reunited on-screen for the first time since leaving NXT.

During their reunion segment that featured a run-in with Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville, Gargano dropped a hint that “he” was coming back soon and it’s “going to be great.” His wife Candice LeRae seemed less enthusiastic about this potential return, leading many fans to speculate that they’re talking about Ciampa as she’s reluctant to trust him after he and Gargano had such vicious battles in NXT.

Triple H reportedly has “big plans” for The Way as a faction, and it remains to be seen what Ciampa’s role will be when he returns to WWE TV.
