WWE Drops Hint Injured Star Could Be Back Soon

WWE logo over roster

Tommaso Ciampa hasn’t been seen on WWE television for seven months, but that could soon be about to change.

On the May 8th episode of Raw, The Way reformed and got into an altercation backstage.

Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell, and Dexter Lumis had been regulars together in NXT before Gargano and LeRae stepped away from the ring. The group also featured Austin Theory before his own main roster call-up.

With the group back together they were interrupted by Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green who were trying to get signatures on a petition for a Women’s Tag Team Title shot. While The Way wasn’t especially enthusiastic, when they were left alone, Gargano said that “he” was coming back soon and that it would be great for them.

LeRae was much less excited about the mystery figure, leading fans to believe that it was Tommaso Ciampa. While Gargano and Ciampa teamed together during their time in NXT, their heated feud was one of the most memorable storylines from the Black and Gold brand.

Ciampa last wrestled on the September 17th edition of Raw, losing out to Bobby Lashley. Shortly after the match, the former NXT Champion underwent hip surgery.

WWE And Triple H Reportedly Have Big Plans For The Way

Now that The Way is back together, it has been reported that Triple H has “big plans” for the group. It is unknown whether these plans include Tommaso Ciampa.

Ciampa isn’t the only star struggling with injury after Indi Hartwell suffered an ankle sprain, and Gargano has missed time with a shoulder problem.
