Dax Harwood has commented on the negative reputation Sasha Banks has gathered by some online, putting it down to her passion for professional wrestling a struggle he himself knows all too well.
Dax Harwood Discusses Sasha Banks ‘Bad Rep’.
Speaking on his new podcast ‘FTR with Dax Harwood’, the former Scott Dawson would discuss Sasha Banks’ reputation stating that he believes ‘The Boss’ only garners a bad reputation online because of how passionate she is about wrestling and because of how much she wants to achieve in wrestling.
“I think that, just like me, I feel that sometimes she gets a bad rep because of how passionate she is and how much she wants. You know, she wants it all, but she wants to work for it. That’s the same with us.
Like, I want everything in this business, but I want to work for it and I want you to know that I’m going to work hard for you, and that’s her, man. She knows what she deserves, and she knows what she’s earned, and she works her ass off to get it, and if she doesn’t get it, she feels slighted and she has a reason to feel that way.”
FTR and Sasha Banks have long had a supportive relationship with one another since their time in NXT with Sasha Banks & Bayley dubbed ‘The Shevival’ in obvious reference to Harwood and Wheeler’s WWE name – The Revival.
WWE star and Damage CNTRL leader Bayley would previously credit Dax & Cash for making her fall in love with tag team wrestling and credits them for changing her understanding of the art form.
Speaking on Rene Paquette’s Sessions podcast, Bayley would state:
“We never really learned the psychology of tag team wrestling, and once we did that, like we sat down with Dax [Wheeler] and Cash [Harwood], so hard to call them that now…once we sat and learned from them and just watching their matches, I really fell in love with it.
So it made me want to fight for [the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship] even more. It made the titles so much more to me, and it makes me want, it also gives something for all the girls to do because you can’t always go after the women’s title.
“[FTR] would make us watch Arn [Anderson] and Tully [Blanchard] all the time. I’d be like, ‘Hey, can I have a match that I should study,’ just for the basis of the storytelling, so you can tell by watching a tag match that you get beat up for a long time and you’re just working for that big tag because you wanna see all the fireworks happen and all that stuff.
They would teach us how much you can tease that and make the people anticipate it or think that it’s gonna happen. Or make it happen but then you, all the fireworks start and then something happens to where it’s like, ‘Oh no, it’s not the end of the match? I thought it was.’”
Harwood would continue his praise for Banks dubbing her as the greatest woman wrestler of all time, a belief also shared by WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus who once dubbed ‘The Boss’ her dream opponent during an interview with ET Canada earlier in the year.
“Huge star, huge heart, beautiful human being, the greatest woman wrestler of all time. I think she’s just incredible.”
Sasha Banks is expected to appear at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4th, 2023. Though she doesn’t have a match announced, it’s rumoured that she’ll either do some angle or have some important segment to take part in surrounding the IWGP Women’s Championship.
FTR will also be competing at Wrestle Kingdom 17 when they take on the team of Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI, better known as Bishamon, for the NJPW Tag Team Championships.
