Backstage Update On Drew McIntyre Potentially Returning At WWE Money In The Bank

When Drew McIntyre walked out to face Roman Reigns at WWE Clash At The Castle in Cardiff less than 12 months ago he was greeted as a hero. However, with Money In The Bank now just hours away, it seems he’ll miss WWE’s latest adventure in the United Kingdom.

McIntyre has been absent from WWE since WrestleMania 39, and his status with the company is far from certain. The Scottish star will become a free agent in 2024, and there has been no news of a new deal between himself and the company. When news about his contract first came to light during WrestleMania weekend, the two sides were said to be some way apart when it came to agreeing new terms.

This was followed by reports that McIntyre was upset with WWE’s financial offer and recent creative, although it is believed that if he does leave the company, he wants to do so on the best terms possible.

With regard to a return to the ring, pitches were made for the star to appear at Money In The Bank, but he isn’t currently scheduled for a match. After Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that there was “no buzz” internally about McIntyre featuring at Money In The Bank, John has offered a further update via PWInsider Elite. The report notes that any involvement will come down to a “creative choice.”

The report adds that McIntyre hasn’t been seen in London staying where other WWE talent is located, although it’s possible that he’s with family in Scotland.

Drew McIntyre Still Makes Appearances For WWE

Despite his uncertain contractual status, Drew McIntyre has continued to be mentioned on WWE television and has been making appearances as an ambassador. The former World Champion recently attended the Special Olympics, and WWE shared footage of what he got up to across social media, as well as promoting it on Raw and SmackDown.
