Drew McIntyre

As part of his role as a Global Ambassador, Drew McIntyre witnessed a heartwarming moment that saw an athlete hearing properly for the first time.

McIntyre has been absent from WWE TV since WrestleMania 39, where he faced Sheamus and Gunther in a Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship and according to reports, he has yet to agree a new deal with the company.

Although he has not been present onscreen, the Scottish Warrior is still making other appearances for the promotion, most recently representing them as their Global Ambassador at the Special Olympics in Berlin.

WWE has now released footage of the star’s time there which shows him sharing the moment Brazilian athlete Marcelino was fitted with a device that allowed him to hear properly for the first time.

“In a touching moment, @SpecialOlympics Global Ambassador and WWE Superstar @DMcIntyreWWE witnessed how Brazilian athlete Marcelino got a hearing instrument, which made him properly hear for the very first time in his life.”

Drew McIntyre in talks for match at Money In The Bank

WWE is still trying to get McIntyre back in the ring and has reportedly been in talks with the star for him to compete at Money In The Bank when it hits London for the first time on July 1st.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been various creative pitches made for McIntyre, however, he is waiting for plans to be “locked in” before he makes his return.

This is seemingly due to his uncertain contract situation meaning it could be his last run in the company and he wants to make an impact.
