WWE Superstar and former Women’s Champion Liv Morgan was arrested yesterday.
Morgan, real name Gionna Daddio, was arrested in Sumter County, Florida, on drug possession charges following a traffic stop.
Daddio was found in possession of Marijuana, however the amount found was less than the 20 grams required for a felony charge and was therefore flagged as solely for individual use.
The local news report states that the WWE star was found in possession of a “small plastic bag containing marijuana” and a “vape pen containing an oil-like substance” that later tested positive for marijuana.
The report notes that Morgan was released from Sumter County Detention Center following a $3000 bail posting.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion has not competed in the WWE since July earlier this year after sustaining a shoulder injury during a WWE Women’s Tag Title defence.
WWE’s current corporate policy states that any talent who tests positive for marijuana will be fined $2500 per positive test.
Crucially, WWE does not suspend talent for marijuana related wellness policy violations and this does not count as a strike on the WWE’s policy.
“In the event of any positive test for marijuana, the WWE Talent shall be fined Two Thousand Five Hundred US Dollars ($2,500.00) per positive test, which shall be deducted from the WWE Talent’s downside guarantee.”
WWE has yet to comment on Liv Morgan‘s arrest.
