Liv Morgan Injured, Women’s Tag Team Title Match Scrapped

Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez

Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green worked so hard petitioning to get a shot at the Women’s Tag Team Titles only to have their opportunity snatched away due to an injury suffered by Liv Morgan.

It has been reported that Morgan suffered an injury during her Women’s Tag Team Title defence alongside Raquel Rodriguez against Damage CTRL on the May 12th episode of SmackDown. The report from Fightful Select notes that there is no word on the severity of the injury, or exactly when it occurred.

The report states that Morgan had been scheduled for a Cricket Wireless meet and greet on the morning of the 15th, but she was replaced by Dolph Ziggler.

As a result of the injury, the planned title match between Morgan & Rodriguez and Deville and Green has been pulled from Monday Night Raw.

Liv Morgan And Raquel Rodriguez Have Been Fighting Champions

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez won the Women’s Tag Team Titles on April 10th with victory over Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch. Stratus replaced Lita in the match and attacked Stratus once the bout was over. It was later revealed that Stratus had taken Lita out in order to get one over on Lynch.

Since winning the gold Rodriguez and Morgan have defended the titles twice, first against Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green and then Damage CTRL.

The reign is Morgan’s first with the Tag Team Titles, although Rodriguez has held the belts previously alongside Aliyah. Rodriguez has also won NXT Women’s Tag Team gold on two occasions.
