A new report has claimed that a Monday Night Raw star is no longer listed on WWE’s internal roster, instead being replaced by their former persona.
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Ezekiel is no longer listed on WWE’s internal roster. Instead he has been replaced by his original character Elias.
The report adds that when the star returns to Monday Night Raw he will do so as Elias, while Ezekiel will be left to “fade into the darkness.”
Elias returned to Raw on April 4th 2022 after being absent for nine months. However, in a far cry from his earlier character, the former NXT star returned as Ezekiel, Elias’ younger brother.
Over the following four months Ezekiel feuded with Kevin Owens who was on a mission to prove that he and Elias were the same person. As the rivalry progressed, Ezekiel introduced more family members, including another brother Elrod.
Ezekiel hasn’t been seen on WWE television since August when he was stretchered out of Raw following a vicious attack by Owens, which included a Powerbomb on the ring apron. Upon Triple H taking creative control of WWE the character began to be phased out.
The news comes after it was reported that more surprise returns could be on the way. Furthermore, these returns will involve stars that are currently not being discussed, which appears to rule out Bray Wyatt and Candice LeRae.
