Today’s biggest stories:

Gunther

Imperium promises there will be consequences for Matt Riddle

WWE’s Intercontinental Champion, Gunther, continued his dominant streak in WWE by defeating one-half of the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions in Kevin Owens on tonight’s Raw. However, it wasn’t without some help from the members of the Imperium faction: Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.

Their night didn’t end there, however. A confrontation between Kaiser/Vinci and Riddle ended up with Imperium tending to their wounds as Riddle stood tall. After Raw went off the air, Imperium appeared on a new edition of Raw Talk and had a message for their nemesis.

I am going to cut you off right there, Byron. Tonight was supposed to be a great night for Imperium, and a great night for Imperium means a great night for Monday Night Raw and the entire WWE Universe! But then, this absolute disgrace of a man, Matt Riddle, viciously attacked Vinci from behind for no apparent reason — injured him! This man has no integrity, no respect, no honor!

Gunther then emphasized that if Riddle continues meddling in the group’s business, there will be consequences to pay. You can see the whole interview below:

Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon reportedly backstage during tonight's WWE Raw

Tonight’s episode of WWE Raw took place not too far away from WWE headquarters in Hartford, Connecticut, so it’s not too big of a surprise that reports of Vince McMahon attending tonight’s episode of the red brand have emerged. PWInsider adds to the news that several top WWE executives were present since it was a hometown edition.

This marks the first time Vince has been present at a WWE TV taping since the Raw after WrestleMania 39.

FInn Balor

Is Finn Balor next in line for the World Heavyweight Title?

Raw ends with Seth Rollins and Finn Balor staring one another down with the World Title being held up.

Seth Rollins

The Champion overcomes the antics of The Judgment Day

When we come back, Rollins can’t quite get a sunset flip buckle bomb. He still gets a shot on Priest while seated on the top rope, so he climbs to the top and tries for his superplex/falcon arrow combo. Priest breaks him down momentarily, but Seth still secures his signature combo for another close two! Rollins continues on the attack with three suicide dives, with the final one shoving Priest over the announce desk with force!

Seth throws Damian back inside the ring and nails a superkick. He climbs to the top, finally using the frog splash for another close two-count. Seth tries a rolling elbow but he’s beat to the punch. Priest with several kicks before Rollins does get a rolling elbow to hit. Damian with a violent headlock driver to get one more two count on Priest. Damian tries for the South of Heaven but Seth escapes and climbs to the second rope. Priest uses a spinning roundhouse kick and a hurricanrana off the top rope for ANOTHER close two count!

Priest with some clotheslines to a struggling Seth. Rollins rolls through a clothesline and delivers a pedigree! He is slow to get the cover, which allows Priest just enough time to recover and slide out at the 2 and 7/8 count! Seth attempts a pedigree on the apron but Priest won’t allow it. Seth uses the buckle bomb that injured Seth Rollins! While the ref is checking on Seth, Finn Balor shows up! Seth takes care of him, but Priest meets him in the ring with a stiff lariat and the South of Heaven for another close two count.

Priest comes up and is annoyed that Finn came down to help. Priest can’t deliver the Razor’s Edge with the injured soldier. Seth with a trio of strikes and a finishing stomp to retain! Seth holds onto the belt tonight!!!

Damien Priest

Priest takes the momentum as we head to our final break

We come back with Priest in control, hitting a strike to Seth. Rollins comes back with a kick and then forces Priest outside of the ring. Damian meets him with a knee to the abdomen, but he’s then shoved into the ring post face-first. Rollins uses the moment to try attacking him on the barricade, but Priest avoids it. Rollins jumps off the barrier but eats a HARD right that forces him to crumble.

Back inside the ring, Priest with a right and several stomps to a cornered Seth. Priest uses the second rope and his leg to hang Seth up by the neck. He hits two rights to Seth, followed by a fierce Irish whip and a thrust kick for a two-count. Priest tackles him with a headlock and sends him down to the mat. The crowd rallies to support their World Champion, helping him reach his feet. He eats a back elbow and goes right back down, though.

Priest with stomps and rights, followed by a knee to the back as he stretches Seth’s arms behind him. Damian with a forearm to the back of Rollins, as well. Seth tries to come back with elbows, followed by an enziguri out of desperation. Rollins blocks strikes from Priest and delivers several of his own, along with some chops and a lariat. He follows up with another lariat, two kicks, and a third clothesline to send Priest down to his back.

Rollins with a splash and a backbreaker. He climbs to the top rope and attempts a frog splash, but Damian avoids it and uses a roundhouse kick and an elbow in the corner. Seth somehow changes the momentum and tries for a pedigree. Damian escapes it! Sling blade from the champion — he feeds off the energy of the WWE Universe and nails a suicide dive, but, no! Priest catches him and uses a flatliner to send Rollins’ face into the announcer table.

We head to our final break!

Damien Priest

Damian Priest vs. Seth Rollins

As he assured Seth, he is entering this World Title match alone — the question is, will that stay the same throughout the entire contest? Seth Rollins enters next! Our ring announcer does the official introduction. The bell rings and the competitors lock up. Priest backs Seth into the corner and talks some trash, prompting Rollins to shove the face of Priest back into the middle of the ring. Seth with chops and shots to the face.

Seth slides into the corner and evades a clothesline, then hitting a leg drop from the second rope to the apron. He follows it up with a flying knee to Priest!

Jinder Mahal

Indus Sher vs. Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander

Cedric and Shelton make their entrance during the break. Indus Sher w/ Jinder Mahal make their entrance and the bell rings. They graduated from squashing jobbers! This time, they just beat down the two WWE stars with ease before the match even starts. Veer and Sanga stand tall over Cedric’s body as referee Rod Zapata calls off the match due to Cedric’s state.

They hit their finishing leg drop/sidewalk slam on Cedric once more as we transition to backstage where Seth Rollins is. The main event is coming up soon! World Title action is heading our way up next!

Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman invites us to the next chapter in The Bloodline

Paul Heyman is backstage, telling the WWE Universe to join The Bloodline this Friday night as Jey Uso chooses where his allegiance is. He’s the deliverer of news, even if it’s bad news for The Tribal Chief. This time, the news isn’t good, because this Friday, Jey Uso will make his choice and Jey will choose and standby his brother, Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns.

He says Jey will never be as close to Jimmy as he is to Roman. And this Friday, on SmackDown, Jey Uso will acknowledge that fact or else, according to Heyman.

Indus Sher vs. Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander is next.

Zoey Stark

Zoey Stark vs. Natalya

Nattie makes her entrance, and then the bell rings. They lock up, with Stark powering Nattie into the corner and stomping away. She does it once more as the ref counts to 4 and pulls her back. Nattie with a surprise cover for a quick one count. Stark wrestles out of a hammer lock and puts Nattie into a head scissors hold. Natties seems to hurt her knee on a reversal and eats a superkick to the face. Zoey focuses on the knee and gets encouraged to continue the attack by Trish.

Stark with a shoulder tackle and a knee to the abdomen, even though she eats a slap for her troubles. Nattie with an elbow and a kick, followed by a German suplex. The veteran uses her signature sharpshooter as Stark screams in agony. She finally makes it to the ropes and slides out of the ring to Trish, but Nattie stays on her and kicks her in the head. She tells Trish to stay out of it, but a moment of the ref looking away gives Stark the distraction for the Z360.

Stark wins it and advances to the women’s MITB ladder match!

Trish Stratus

Women's action is next!

We see Damian Priest getting prepared for his World Title match later tonight. Here comes Trish Stratus and Zoey Stark! The next Money in the Bank qualifying match is next!

Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio sneaks a cheap shot in on Cody Rhodes

Dom and Rhea walk down to the ring. There, Miz starts talking but Rhea tells him to be quiet. She gives the mic to Dom but, of course, the boos drown out everything he tries to say. Rhea tells everyone to shut up and show respect for Dominik, but it doesn’t work and they keep booing. Dom says that he heard things that Cody said last week, but in the end, he’s just a little birdy with a broken wing. He heard the crappy list of towns that Cody said Brock could find him in, and that’s when he realized Cody was a “bad father.”

Just like Rey, Cody isn’t home with his daughter and is a deadbeat dad, according to Dom. Cody explains that he has a ton of empathy for Dom for the 15 minutes he spent in prison. “Tough times.” Cody says he knows he’s not the perfect father, and he knows Rey has made some mistakes and isn’t the perfect father because, right now, he’s looking at one of those mistakes.

Rhea and Dom act like they’re leaving but Dom runs up and slaps Cody right in the face. He hides behind Mami and smiles. Cody looks amused and irritated as Judgment Day sneaks out of the ring to safety. Cody knocks out The Miz with his arm cast to let the anger out.

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes appears on Miz TV

The Miz tells the crowd welcome to Miz TV, and adds that he needed a huge episode of Miz TV with the knowledge that there would be a World Title match during the show. Here comes Cody! Rhodes comes out to a huge pop and grabs the microphone. “Shall we start?” Miz asks. Miz brings up Brock Lesnar and points out how “stupid” it was to battle Brock with a broken arm. Cody teases The Miz for his “tiny balls” a bit, and then mentions how Brock is off on his yearly hibernation.

The Miz says that he actually has a surprise for Cody, and it’s even better than Lesnar. Another multi-generational talent: Dominik Mysterio! Oh no.

Chad Gable

Alpha Academy is ready to train Maxxine Dupri

We see a replay of what went down with Valhalla and Alpha Academy last week. Backstage, Alpha Academy is together, witch Chad saying that the reason they came together is the brain, the beauty, and the brawn. They never run from a fight as an Alpha. Maxxine defends herself, saying that Valhalla was creepy and she couldn’t handle her.

Gable asked Otis to do some research. Otis’ idea is to show them how to use deodorant. And maybe it’s time they start training Dupri to defend herself. She goes to find her special training outfit.

Cody Rhodes is coming out next!

Bronson Reed

Bronson Reed ends what was a fantastic match

Shinsuke has Ricochet in a headlock, but Ricochet counters a back body drop and uses a springboard back elbow. Ricochet powers Nakamura into the corner and hits him with a headbutt to the abdomen. Ricochet hits a springboard clothesline and a standing shooting star press for another close two. Ricochet hits a kick and a splash in the corner on Shinsuke. He tries for another splash but Nakamura dodges and hits him double running knees.

Nakamura slams Ricochet into the mat with a sliding suplex. Dragon whip kick and an exploder suplex come next, so Shinsuke prepares for the Kinshasa. Ricochet counters and uses the recoil! He tries to climb up for the shooting star press, but Nakamura climbs up with him and they start battling for supremacy. Bronson Reed interferes! He attacks both men, even splashing Shinsuke while Ricochet is on his back. Reed slams his body into Ricochet and delivers the Tsunami for emphasis!

Ricochet

Ricochet vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

We get back and see a video hyping up Johnny Gargano. Ricochet enters first, followed by Nakamura. The bell sounds! Let’s go! Ricochet uses a kick but immediately is pulled into a headlock. They trade quick submission hold attempts until Ricochet hits a head scissors. Shinsuke with a knee and back elbow, but Ricochet comes back with a kick of his own.

Ricochet is hit with a kick on the apron, but as soon as Nakamura climbs to the second rope, Ricochet kicks him to the floor. Ricochet with a corkscrew moonsault to Nakamura as we go to a commercial.

Ricochet

Two MITB competitors will throw down next

Bronson Reed confronts Ricochet backstage, saying it isn’t right that he beat him weeks ago and yet he’s still in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Ricochet says it’s his fault he lost to Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura shows up confident, but Reed says that he’ll beat him the next time he gets him in the ring. Ricochet vs. Nakamura is coming up next!

Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs. Katana Chance & Kayden Carter

Rousey & Baszler enter first, followed by the newbies. Shayna and Kayden start out, with Baszler backing her into a corner and tripping her legs out from under her. They lock up again, with Kayden clapping back by tripping Shayna up this time. Carter with a springboard dropkick. Chance tags in and uses a quick flurry of offense and a dropkick before Ronda is tagged in.

Both Kayden and Katana are getting beaten down by Rousey alone. She elbows Kayden off the apron and then hits a knee and an armbar on the ropes. Carter catches her on the outside with a superkick. Chance and Carter with synced diving attacks — a splash and a corkscrew splash. Baszler gets a cheap shot on Chance’s arm and allows Ronda to take back over.

The tag champs trade a tag and uses more tandem offense for a sliding knee on Chance. Baszler contorts her fingers and stomps on her arm. She tosses her back into her corner, but Chance finally gets some fight back in and tags her partner back in. Carter with some dropkicks and a victory roll into a superkick to Baszler. She uses a running pump kick and a piledriver from the ropes for a two. Rousey tags in and tries to hit a shoulder into the abdomen, but Carter moves and Ronda hits the ring post on the outside. They hit their finishing 450 splash/neckbreacker for a VERY close two on Ronda. Baszler pulls Chance off at the last moment.

Ronda catches Chance when she tries for a kick and then puts her in the ankle lock. Chance with a codebreaker, but Baszler gets a tag. Carter tags in with a quick tag. Carter with a sudden roll-up, but it’s not enough. Shayna with a kick and a siato suplex. Shayna with a rear naked choke to take out Carter for the win.

Ronda Rousey

Your new Women's Tag Team Champions are challenged

Backstage, Cathe Kelly interviews Matt Riddle, who says that he is tired of Imperium cheating to win. Ludwig Kaiser is offended nearby, telling Riddle to watch his mouth! Imperium is bested by Riddle at first, with Matt throwing Kaiser to the side and locking Vinci in an ankle lock. Producers and referees break everyone up as we transition back to the ring.

We see a replay of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler winning the Women’s Tag Team Titles last Monday. They get interviewed by Byron Saxton next. He asks them how it feels to be the new tag team champions. Baszler says it was destiny and they were meant to win these since they were still in the octagon. Rousey says they will take any challenge that have the balls to step up.

Kayden Carter and Katana Chance walk up and say they would love to accept and get a shot. Rousey insults them by calling them munchkins, and then Baszler says they will be hearing the sounds of their bones and ligaments tearing. It looks like this match is happening next!

Gunther

Gunther uses a distraction to pull out the win

We get back and Gunther is in control, slamming Owens into the mat and twisting Owens’ neck with his ankles and stomping on his face. Gunther puts him in a headlock as Sami Zayn tries to rally at ringside. Kevin makes it up and uses right after right. He eats a boot for his troubles, kicking out right at 2. He takes yet another boot when he makes it back up.

Gunther shoves Owens’ face, but Kevin comes back with forearms. Gunther uses chops, causing Owens to crumble immediately. The Ring General with stomps and a Boston Crab while Owens struggles in the middle of the ring. He switches into a crossface and elbows Owens repeatedly in the neck. Owens somehow transitions out of it once more, hitting a chop as he exits. Gunther chops back, and Owens is down again. Gunther rattles KO with a clothesline.

Gunther with a short-arm clothesline to a battered Owens. He comes back, though, and the two of them trade short-arm lariats and German suplexes. This one is intense! They trade more forearms, followed by a hard chop and a stomp to the back of the head of Owens. He taunts Zayn at ringside and starts lackadaisically kicking at Owens’ head with disrespect.

Owens claps back with multiple super kicks and a cannonball in the corner for another close two-count. Gunther reverses a stunner and uses a shotgun dropkick. They trade blows until Owens hits the Fisherman Buster for yet another close two! Owens ascends to the top rope but Gunther meets him there and sends him tumbling to the mat with a belly-to-belly. He climbs up to the top and tries for a splash, but Owens puts up his knees and is able to hit a swanton bomb on Gunther. It’s still not enough to put him away!!

This is a wild one! Imperium tries to interrupt, but Zayn tries to stop them. Owens runs outside the ring and joins in the chaos. He goes back into the ring and uses the Stunner on Kaiser, allowing enough of a distraction for Gunther to roll Kevin up for the win!

Kevin OWens

Kevin Owens vs. Gunther

When we get back, we see another video hype package for Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. Owens vs. Gunther is indeed official and is going down right now.

Gunther enters! Got a feeling this is going to be a good one! Let’s get it! Owens and Gunther lock up and Gunther pushes Kevin into the corner. He puts him in a headlock and takes Kevin over. Owens makes it back to his feet but can’t quite escape yet. Gunther hits a shoulder tackle and keeps on Kevin. Gunther gets a HARD slap to the face and several forearms. Gunther tries another shoulder tackle but eats a flurry of punches.

Gunther misses a chop and gets one of his own in the corner. Owens with an uppercut. Gunther catches him with a boot and a German suplex. They trail to the outside and Gunther takes over by slamming the back of Owens’ head into the ring barricade. The Ring General with a back suplex on the ring apron as we head to the break.

Roman Reigns

A recap of The Bloodline continuing to crumble

We return from the show and see a replay from this past Friday’s SmackDown when The Bloodline fell apart even further. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are interviewed backstage, with Zayn saying that he won’t say, “I told you so.” However, it is nice to see Jimmy Uso doing what he was supposed to do. When it comes to Jey, he doesn’t know what will happen next but he hopes it works.

Imperium walks up and say that as long as Owens and Zayn have the Tag Team Titles, they’re a problem. Gunther walks over and tells Owens that he lacks discipline and needs to be taught a lesson. Kevin says if Gunther has a problem, there is a ring to solve the problems and he wants to fight him now!

Becky Lynch

The Man is headed to Money in the Bank

Lynch and Sonya battle for dominance on the second rope. Becky gets the advantage and uses a superplex for a close two-count. They both struggle to get to their feet, but when they do, they trade forearms back and forth. Becky takes over and gets Sonya to evade her by running out of the ring. Becky with a baseball slide, but Green takes advantage with a kick on the outside. Deville with a running knee for a close two!

Sonya picks up Becky and they trade shots. Becky with an enziguri to Sonya. She gets to the outside apron and Green tries interfering again, which sets Becky off hardcore. She beats Green down and tosses her into the ringside barricade as Sonya rushes over to try and help. It’s futile! Becky beats her down, too. Deville is back inside the ring and reverses a manhandle slam. Becky claps back with an attempt at a disarmher. Green helps with a pinfall and the leverage nearly wins it, but not quite! Becky catches Sonya off the second rope and uses a Manhandle slam to win it!

Becky celebrates as Trish and Zoey watch on from the ramp.

Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch vs. Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville, accompanied by Chelsea Green, enters when we get back from the break. The bell rings! Green immediately tries a distraction for the advantage. It doesn’t work immediately, but a second distraction gives Sonya momentum. She beats her down in the corner and turns a snapmare takeover into a headlock. Deville stands on Becky’s hair and nails her with some forearms. Becky uses an elbow, clotheslines, and a dropkick. She forearms and hits a springboard kick, followed by a becksploder.

Becky with an elbow and a crossbody on Sonya. Trish Stratus’ music hits and she walks out with Zoey Stark! Deville and Lynch reverse one another several times until Becky hits the reverse DDT.

Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch will be in action next!

We see a rundown of the WWE Raw card for the night.

Here comes Becky Lynch! She faces Sonya Deville in a Money in the Bank qualifying match next!

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins and Damian Priest come face-to-face

Rollins, clad in gold, poses in the center of the ring as the crowd sings his song. He welcomes Hartford to “Monday Night Rollins” and says that this week as Champion has been a non-stop party. He started thinking to himself and wondered when the last time a World Heavyweight Title match actually went down on Raw. The answer? Nearly two years!

So, Seth went and made an open challenge and we all know that Damian Priest of The Judgment Day was the man to step up to the plate. He says he’s psyched about it. Whether it’s what people like or not, Judgement Day are as good as it gets and he’s looking forward to the opportunity to show each one that none of them will ever be as good as The Visionary.

Priest and Finn Balor make there way out. Rollins asks why they need to interrupt the party when he’s saying some nice things. He asks where Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio are right now since they aren’t coming out. Priest says to worry about him right now. But Seth says there are two men out here right now, so should he be worried about him to? Balor says he gets the people love Seth, but Rollins isn’t going to love it when Priest takes his World Title tonight.

Priest acknowledges that Rollins is a deserving Champion overall and he’s beaten the best, but so has he. He claims that he doesn’t need any of Judgment Day to win the World Title from Seth. Rollins is intrigued and tells Priest to put his money where his mouth is. He wants a bout one-on-one against Damian with JD staying backstage, which Priest accepts. He also tosses some shade at Balor for dislocating his shoulder in their match at SummerSlam long ago.

Priest says that after tonight, he will be Champion and Seth will be in the record books as one of the shortest Title reigns ever. Seth throws more shade at Finn, saying that even if he does lose it, it will be a longer reign than Finn’s Universal Title reign.

Raw

WWE Raw starts now!!!

It’s time to get this party started! We see the live crowd at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut as Kevin Patrick welcomes us to Raw.

Here comes our World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins!

Randy Orton

Sound-Off: What is Randy Orton's Greatest RKO of All Time?

Randy Orton is undeniably one of the greatest WWE stars of all time, with 14 WWE Title reigns under his belt to prove it. His finishing move, the RKO, is also one of the most recognizable finishing moves in history, with the jumping cutter “out of nowhere” even becoming a popular meme at one point.

WWE’s Twitter page wants to know which of Randy’s RKOs are your favorite. Based on the answers the WWE Universe gave, it appears they think that Randy’s RKO to Seth Rollins during an attempt at the Stomp at WrestleMania 31 is the fan-favorite choice.

What is Randy Orton’s greatest RKO of all time?”

You can see some of the answers below, and let us know what you think at this link!

Roddy Piper

Cast of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia remembers their time with Roddy Piper

“Rowdy” Roddy Piper wasn’t just a legendary entity inside the squared circle, he was also a well-respected actor in Hollywood, starring in movies like John Carpenter’s “They Live.” This allowed him the opportunity to work with other famous faces, like Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney, and Glenn Howerton from the “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.” In a new episode of their “It’s Always Sunny Podcast,” the three actors recalled what it was like working alongside the WWE Hall of Famer.

Howerton:

When he came in, there was some like method acting shit happening.”

McElhenney:

When we were off the stage, in the dressing rooms, I spent a lot of time talking to him. He was a completely different person. He had the most amazing stories … He had been stabbed by a fan, or, I don’t know if you call somebody a fan who stabs you. And then from that point forward, he had a pistol.”

Day:

He told me he survived a couple of plane crashes. He would take these little puddle jumper planes, and ocassionally, the engines would drop out of these things. He said he survived — I think he told me, at least, 3 plane crashes. He might have said 5.

Jim Ross

Jim Ross names two AEW stars he would like to see more on television

“Good Ol’ J.R.” Jim Ross has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since April 2019 and has seen many stars come and go. However, those that impress Ross stick in his mind, and he makes sure people know he’s a fan. That’s the case with two of AEW’s most promising powerhouses right now: Powerhouse Hobbs and the current TNT Champion, Wardlow.

Ross sees big things in the future of these two mid-card giants, but he knows they will need to be featured more prominently in AEW to get to that level of superstardom.

“Probably Powerhouse Hobbs. I’d like to see more, consistently, more of him and Wardlow. Two guys I have my eyes on. We have a lot of guys who are really close to breaking through to the next level, which is great. They’re learning and getting better. That’s their obligation. They work a great schedule. They have a chance to work out, train, and take care of their bodies when they’re off. They don’t travel as much as other companies. I like where we’re headed as far as the young guys are concerned.”
