WWE Officially Announces Return Of Major PLE

WWE Hall of Famers and executives Shawn Michaels and Triple H

WWE began putting significant effort into improving its premium live event business a few years back, and this area of the industry has grown in a major way in the Endeavor era. Now Triple H and his team are set to bring another major PLE back for the second time this year.

World Wrestling Entertainment first premiered Worlds Collide in early 2019 with a tournament featuring NXT, NXT UK, and 205 Live talents, taped in Phoenix. A Worlds Collide series returned a few months later, airing over four episodes taped in Brooklyn, also featuring main roster superstars. The second Worlds Collide PLE took place in early 2020 in Houston with NXT and NXT UK.

Worlds Collide did not return until 2022, again featuring both NXT brands, but taped at the WWE Performance Center. A new format for Worlds Collide was announced for its return in June of this year from the Los Angeles area, now featuring RAW and SmackDown talents with the newly-acquired AAA.

WWE Announces Second Worlds Collide For 2025

WWE Worlds Collide V has been announced for Friday, September 12. This will be another event co-produced by World Wrestling Entertainment and AAA. WWE has a SmackDown scheduled for that same night in Toledo, Ohio, with Brock Lesnar returning to the blue brand.

The fifth Worlds Collide event will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center near Las Vegas, specifically at The Pavilion. It will air live on YouTube exclusively, as we saw with AAA Triplemania XXXIII this weekend.

World Wrestling Entertainment ran the Thomas & Mack Center regularly until better options were built in the Sin City. The company last ran the venue in September 2017 for the Mae Young Classic finals, SmackDown, 205 Live, and an NXT live event. No Way Out 2008 reportedly drew just over 15,000 fans to the main portion of the arena. The Pavilion, where Worlds Collide is being held, also hosted TNA Unbreakable in April of this year.
