WWE Legend Jokes On 5-Year AEW Title Reign For Jon Moxley’s Vanquisher, Darby Allin’s New Character

AEW stars Jon Moxley and Darby Allin

WWE Legend pokes fun at 5-Year AEW Title Reign for Darby Allin’s new character if he beats Jon Moxley.

Jon Moxley became the AEW World Champion at the 2024 WrestleDream by defeating Bryan Danielson. At All In: Texas, he is set to defend the gold against “Hangman” Adam Page. However, WWE legend Kevin Nash had another name in mind to dethrone him, while also poking fun on the matter.

In the latest Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash jokingly wondered if Jon Moxley, whom he called Dean Ambrose, would ever defend the AEW World title. He then suggested two names he wants to be next in line: ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Darby Allin.

The Hall of Famer added that not only does he want the next champion to hold it for five years, but he wants the daredevil wrestler to change his risk-taker character to be a “mat wrestler,” or someone who excels in grappling and takedowns like an amateur style of wrestling.

I’m just worried about when is Dean Ambrose going to defend his title? [Do you know how long he has been champion?] I think a year. [Whoever is going to dethrone Jon Moxley will have to be a champion for a year] I think five. And I’m thinking five years. Hangman or Darby Allin. We call Darby Allin Mr. Everest. He went to the top of the mountain. Saw things clearly. No longer risktaker, complete mat wrestler, much like Bob Backlund. We take it back. [From 1:33 to 2:35]

WWE Legend Kevin Nash Makes Fun Of Jon Moxley’s AEW Championship Reign

Since winning the AEW World title at WrestleDream, Jon Moxley has defended the title against the likes of Orange Cassidy, Jay White, Adam Page, Christian Cage, Cope, Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe, and more.

However, it has been noted that he hasn’t been active in defending the title and is mainly involved with The Death Riders. Like recently at Double or Nothing, instead of defending the gold, he wrestled at Anarchy in the Arena. As a result, this was also something the WWE legend joked,

I think that f*****g Moxley is asked to f*****g defend that belt too many times [It’s overexposure, that’s the problem] That’s the problem [You have to find new finishes. How many angles? If he’s defending it 300 times a year, how many ongoing angles could you have?] At this point, he shouldn’t work for five years. [That’s what they’re going to have to do] Exactly [Five years of promos] Just maybe just some shots him walking around the building with a hoodie on. It’s good s**t man. [From 23:32 to 24:14]

It will be interesting to see what is next for Jon Moxley’s AEW World Championship reign.
