WWE Hall of Famer Reveals What The Locker Room Really Thought Of Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon on SmackDown

Shane McMahon has appeared on WWE TV as part of multiple storylines involving the rest of his family. Often, this has led to him taking part in matches against top stars in the company, but how did the locker room feel about Vince McMahon’s prodigal son?

During an appearance on The Wrestling Time Machine, Hall of Famer Teddy Long revealed that there was no animosity backstage at McMahon getting top matches against the likes of AJ Styles and The Undertaker.

In fact, according to Long, Shane O’Mac was seen as “one of the boys.”

“It was never like that — you got to understand one thing, this is the boss’s son. And the other thing, Shane McMahon worked his butt off, I’m telling you. He got in there, he took bumps and got injuries, and everything. I mean backstage, he was one of the boys.”

The longtime SmackDown GM went on to say that “everybody likes Shane.”

“He was great to hang out with and he would just have fun with you. So I don’t think nobody had any problem with Shane. Like I said, Shane knew how to present himself with everybody, so everybody liked Shane.”

Shane McMahon still recovering from WrestleMania match

McMahon’s most recent bout came at WrestleMania 39 when he made a surprise appearance to challenge The Miz. However, a Leapfrog went awry, and on landing, he tore a quadriceps muscle.

A recent update on the star has indicated he is recovering well after he was spotted attending a New York Yankees game wearing a knee brace but looking to be physically fine otherwise.

After McMahon was helped out of the arena, one of the most surreal matches in WrestleMania history took place as Snoop Dogg took matters into his own hands to take down Miz and hit him with a People’s Elbow for the win.
