WWE Edits Out Top Star’s Recent Controversial Comments From Programming

WWE Saudi Arabia

WWE recently made the trip to Saudi Arabia for Night of Champions, but in a video discussing the event, the company has edited out comments made by one of its top stars.

Night of Champions saw the crowing of the first ever World Heavyweight Champion, as Seth Rollins defeated AJ Styles. While fans also witnessed Asuka becoming the new Raw Women’s Champion, ending Bianca Belair’s record-breaking championship reign at 420 days.

The event also saw Sami Zayn compete in Saudi Arabia since their partnership with WWE began in 2019.

The former Bloodline member is currently one-half of the Undisputed Tag Team Champions after Zayn and Kevin Owens defeated The Usos at WrestleMania 39.

Zayn recently opened up as to why he has now agreed to work in Saudi Arabia, but his comments were edited out by WWE.

The three-time Intercontinental Champion was speaking on After the Bell with Corey Graves to shut down “people assuming things” over his previous absence on Saudi Arabia-based shows.

But after initially releasing the full interview, WWE has now removed the post and uploaded an edited version that no longer includes the following comments from Zayn.

“First of all, the fact that I haven’t been there in a few years, and that there’s been so much speculation as to why I’m not going and what’s the political reasoning, this and that.

I won’t get into all of it, but I’ll tell you 99.9% of what you’ve read online about this subject, completely fabricated, people assuming things and then running with those assumptions and adding on to them.

It’s wild. I think it’s anytime they can’t get a concrete answer, that’s kind of what tends to happen. I think that’s like human nature, almost.”

Honorary Uce Was Driven By Roman Reigns

Sami Zayn has been involved in one of the hottest storylines in WWE over the last year and during the interview discussed how important Roman Reigns’ role was in making the story a success.

“For me, it all hinged on me and Roman getting together finally and the swerve being, ‘Roman likes this guy.’ You expect him to not like him, but he meets him, and he likes him. That was the money of the whole thing. He buys in.

Roman drives the whole story, and it works very well, even if he’s not there, but because he’s the main antagonist, his decision at the next point in the story is going to drive and propel the story in whatever direction it’s going. You needed him involved.”

Zayn spent most of 2022 trying to impress Roman Reigns and was eventually given the nickname Honorary Uce and joined forces with The Bloodline.

Toward the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, cracks began to appear in the relationship, and at the Royal Rumble, Sami Zayn finally snapped and used a chair on The Tribal Chief.

WWE fans were so invested in Zayn’s journey that he was given a shot at the Undisputed Championship in the main event of Elimination Chamber.

Despite being defeated in his hometown of Montreal, Zayn would re-join his long-time best friend Kevin Owens as the pair looked to take down The Bloodline.
