WWE Dismisses Report Linking The Rock With In-Ring Return

The Rock Comments On

Don’t expect The Rock to be competing at Elimination Chamber.

Following the surprise appearance on a recent episode of SmackDown, news site The West Australian has published a report that “there is talk” that the former World Champion will be having a match at the Premium Live Event that will be taking place in Perth on February 24th, 2024.

It is believed by the publication that this will be done to kickstart the road to WrestleMania as the new owners want to make the 40th incarnation of the event “an absolute showstopper.” However, a new report has shut down this rumour.

Haus of Wrestling has contacted WWE’s PR team regarding the article, who have responded that this is a case of “tabloids being tabloids.”

The Great One made his return to WWE after nearly 4 years away on the September 15th episode of SmackDown. The appearance came just hours after the Hollywood star appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, where it was stated that plans for a WrestleMania 39 match against Roman Reigns were so close that Rock said “We were doing it.”

With the former World Champion revealing scrapped WrestleMania plans for Los Angeles, fans now look ahead to Philadelphia to see if Rock vs. Reigns will finally happen.

There have also been suggestions that The Rock could appear at Crown Jewel, but these rumours seem to be wide of the mark.

The Rock’s WWE Return Viewed By Millions And Millions

The return of The Great One on SmackDown saw Austin Theory become the target of Rock’s signature catchphrases and receive multiple People’s Elbows by both Rock and McAfee. The return got the attention of fans around the world, with the company reporting that 103 million people have watched the historical moment. However, SmackDown couldn’t garner as many viewers this week without Rock.

As the holidays approach, The Rock surprised 21 Make-A-Wish kids in a heart-warming video.
