One of WWE’s newest shows is set to make a return in 2023 after its debut show in 2022 made headlines across the wrestling world.
In 2022 WWE introduced the world to their Day 1 premium live event which kicked off the year in style. The show held on New Year’s Day emanated from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia and now that arena has begun advertising for Day 1 to return on New Year’s Day in 2023.
The advertising features an image of Brock Lesnar although this might change and not be an indication of The Beast Incarnate’s inclusion on the show. Tickets for the event will go on sale on August 23rd at 10 am.
2022’s Day 1 event was mired in controversy after the original main event of Brock Lesnar taking on Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship had to be called off. Reigns tested positive for COVID-19 and instead Lesnar took his place in the WWE Championship bout making it a Fatal Five-Way with Big E’s title on the line.
Lesnar overcame The New Day star as well as Bobby Lashley, Kevin Owens, and Seth Rollins to become WWE Champion for the sixth time. Ultimately the postponement of the bout with Reigns led to their WrestleMania 38 clash where Reigns unified both the WWE and Universal Titles.
