Will Ospreay Addresses Ongoing AEW Criticism: “I Show Vulnerability”

Will Ospreay Addresses Backstage Incident Involving MJF & Britt Baker

Will Ospreay has responded to these ongoing criticisms about him.

With just a few days left for his Double or Nothing Owen Hart Tournament final against Adam Page, Ospreay has opened up to an ongoing popular criticism of him. The Aerial Assassin is all set to face Page on 25th May in the Double or Nothing Main Event, for a shot at Jon Moxley’s World Championship at All In 2025.

Recently, Ospreay appeared for an interview on Busted Open and reflected on his recent 21st May Dynamite segment against Hangman.

“Thank you, man. Once again, I have not been so confident in my microphone technique. It’s been a lot of practicing and looking in the mirror and just trying my best to do this. There are certain times when I wish I reined it in a little bit but, I think this is just getting my reps in and learning how to do this side of the job. But, I’ll be honest with you, I was really proud of what I was able to do there.

I think we really sold the pay-per-view. I mean, the numbers say itself. I think the tickets are nearly sold out. So the fact that we was able to put a little bit more emphasis on how important this match is is just something that I’m just extremely proud of.”

The conversation further moved to Ospreay’s on-screen presentation and how it often attracts criticism. Addressing how he dresses on television, the former International Champion shared his reasons for it.

“It’s essential (to be honest with the audience). For me, I think the more I show vulnerability and the more — I know that one of the criticisms I get, not just about my hair, but like… dressing appropriate for the role I wanna be as one of the top guys and I do understand that to an extent. But I feel like more of the authentic that I dress, the more that people relate to me. I’d just done an interview over in a news studio.

I feel like because I am dressed in a certain way, I look way more presentable. Like, I come down a level and it’s more of like I’m way more humble, I’m way more approachable in that sense and I think that’s the reason a lot of people have gravitated more towards me in that sense.”
