Tony Khan has stated that fans should expect a huge update in regards to The Devil storyline at AEW Worlds End.
The identity of the leader of the group still remains a mystery, with backstage reports unable to uncover who is the person behind the mask, only who is not The Devil. With the storyline running for a number of months, many are expecting the final pay-per-view of 2023 to answer questions regarding the mystery attackers who have targeted MJF and those who have associated themselves with the World Champion.
Speaking on the media call ahead of Worlds End, Khan agreed that the pay-per-view feels like the optimal place to advance the story and admitted that the storyline has been different to what fans usually see on weekly TV:
It feels like we’re getting close to that point. I do expect some big revelations and big moments at Worlds End. It’s its own idea, and it’s something that I’m excited about. I do feel like it’s coming close to the culmination and it does feel like the secrets will be revealed at Worlds End, and I’m looking forward to it. It’s been very different than the other aspects of AEW. One aspect of it has been really interesting and it’s been something to keep people hooked and those people that want to see that kind of episodic story is really something that has a lot of people talking and built a lot of interest for Worlds End is the identity of the Devil,”
