Tony Khan Issues Statement On AEW Dynamite Amid Weather Concerns

Tony Khan has provided an update on the March 19th episode of AEW Dynamite following concerns that the show may be affected by adverse weather conditions.

The March 19th episode of Dynamite will air live from the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, Nebraska with Jon Moxley defending the World Championship against Cope in a street fight in the main event. However, a weather warning has been put in place in the area due to winter storm Nyla is set to hit the Midwest with strong winds, blizzards and snow drifts all expected.

The warning has been issued for 50 counties in the area and is expected to last from 1 am to 2 pm local time on March 19th. Residents have been advised not to travel during this time with reduced visibility expected.

With travel disruptions set to take place prior to the taping with flights also likely to be cancelled, there was a possibility that the announced card could have seen some alterations take place due to the adverse conditions. However, in a reassuring message to the fans, Khan has issued a positive update.

Taking to social media, Khan stated that everyone currently advertised for Dynamite is in Omaha and more will be announced for the show when talent arrives at the venue:

It’s Wednesday, 3/19, final day of winter, there’s a blizzard in Omaha today! We have 3 huge #AEWDynamite fights set for tonight, all advertised wrestlers are in Omaha now! We have more to announce for tonight when the rest of the team arrives safely! Don’t miss Dynamite TONIGHT!

Currently announced for AEW Dynamite is the following:

  • Jon Moxley (c) vs. Cope – Street fight for the AEW World Championship
  • Mike Bailey vs. Orange Cassidy vs. Ricochet vs. Mark Davis – AEW International title eliminator four-way where the winner will challenge Kenny Omega for the International Championship at Dynasty
  • Megan Bayne vs. Kris Statlander
