AEW President Tony Khan has expressed his anticipation for a segment featuring Kenny Omega on the August 16th episode of Dynamite.
During a recent appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Khan discussed Omega’s upcoming sit-down interview with Jim Ross, hinting that the former AEW World Champion would address the betrayal he faced from Don Callis earlier this year.
Khan spoke highly of Callis, acknowledging his contribution to Omega’s championship reign but also noting that Omega is a formidable wrestler in his own right.
Don Callis is a great wrestling mind. He guided Kenny Omega to the AEW World Championship and helped Kenny keep that championship and, frankly, Kenny wanted to go out on his own. Kenny’s a great wrestler, I don’t think he needed the help to win the championship.
The AEW President expressed his eagerness to hear Omega’s perspective on the situation and how Callis manipulated him. The betrayal occurred during Omega’s Steel Cage match against Jon Moxley, where Callis assisted Moxley in securing the victory by attacking Omega with a screwdriver.
Further drama was added to Callis’ and Omega’s rivalry when in an unscripted moment, a fan attacked Don Callis after the AAA TripleMania XXXI event while he was having words with Omega at a post-show press conference.
The unexpected turn of events shocked many, and Khan admitted that Callis double-crossing Omega was not something people anticipated. Omega’s upcoming interview provides an opportunity for him to address the betrayal and shed light on his future plans, including the highly anticipated All In pay-per-view event at Wembley.
What Else Is Happening On AEW Dynamite?
An exciting match scheduled for the upcoming Dynamite is a Texas Chainsaw Massacre Death match between Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett. Additionally, the AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy will put his title on the line against Wheeler Yuta, while Dr. Britt Baker and The Bunny face off in a qualifier match for the AEW Women’s Championship at All In.
Recently it was announced that Kenny Omega will be in action at AEW All In.
