AEW President Tony Khan addressed the absence of Jade Cargill.
Jade Cargill hasn’t been seen since losing the AEW TBS Championship to Kris Statlander at AEW Double or Nothing. This defeat also marked Cargill’s first loss in AEW overall.
During the AEW All Outmedia scrum, Khan provided some insight into Cargill’s status, stating:
I talked to Jade recently. Hopefully, we’ll get Jade back soon. We’ll have to stay tuned to when and where Jade might pop up again in the world.
Khan expressed his admiration for Cargill, acknowledging her incredible dominance in the ring and recognising Statlander’s achievement in defeating her:
Definitely a big fan of Jade, she put together one of the most dominant runs ever and was stopped by Kris Statlander.
Statlander, who returned from an ACL injury, triumphed over Cargill right after Cargill’s victory against Taya Valkyrie. Addressing the potential of Cargill’s return, Statlander stated:
I’m willing to prove that my win over her was not a fluke. Whenever she is ready, I’m accepting any challenge from anyone, especially her, and I will prove that my win is my win and I truly am the TBS Champion.
As of now, the exact timing of Cargill’s return to AEW remains unknown.
Why Isn’t Jade Cargill In AEW Now?
It is unclear why Jade Cargill has been absent from AEW since she lost the TBS title at Double or Nothing back in May. However, reports have suggested that Cargill is not considering coming back to wrestling altogether, with Cargill responding to a fan’s questions about her returning on X replying to the question “Are you coming back soon?” with a simple “No.”
During her time away, Cargill has been very complimentary of the AEW owner.
