The Young Bucks vs The Hardys Announced For AEW Dynamite

The Young Bucks

The Young Bucks have declared their intentions to capture the AEW World Tag Team Championship for a third time and will face another legendary tag team in The Hardys on next week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.

It will be the Bucks first outing as a duo since a victory over Aussie Open back in February and they couldn’t have picked a much sterner test than the Hall Of Fame bound Hardy brothers, who return for their first match on AEW’s flagship show since June 21st.

The challenge was laid down by the Hardys on Friday’s AEW Rampage after the Bucks declared their intentions to return to tag team action after focusing on trios and eight man tag team bouts in recent months.

The Jackson brothers were approached by the men from Cameron, North Carolina during a backstage segment, with Matt Hardy soon issuing the challenge that was duly accepted:

“If you’re gonna re-enter the tag division, why not jump into the deep end? Why not face the GOATS — Matt and Jeff Hardy?”

Whilst the Hardys are best known for being a formidable tag team, Jeff Hardy recently revealed that he feels he has one more solo World Championship run left before he hangs up his boots.

Matt Hardy has also hit the headlines in recent weeks after a war of words with outspoken wrestling personality Jim Cornette and his podcast co-host Brian Last on social media.

The Young Bucks, meanwhile, have announced an extension to their stay in AEW, a decision that met with praise from former WCW President Eric Bischoff.

Recently The Young Bucks discussed the voting process behind their new AEW deals.

Have The Young Bucks And The Hardys Battled Before?

The bout on AEW Dynamite sees the teams renew a long term rivalry that last came to a head at Double Or Nothing 2022, where the Hardys picked up a huge win over The Young Bucks after Jeff Hardy hit Nick Jackson with a thunderous Swanton Bomb.
