The Young Bucks have recently expressed their willingness to wrestle one another on an episode of AEW Dynamite.
On the latest edition of Swerve Strickland’s “Swerve City” Podcast, Matt and Nick Jackson opened up about the possibility of ever clashing in the ring: brother vs. brother. It’s something that the pair have rarely done on-air since becoming a tag team, but when the subject of tag teams breaking up arose, Nick Jackson conceded that he would be open to a match.
“I would like to do a singles match at some point on Dynamite. I think it’d be fun and fans would like it. We don’t need a feud, just a random singles match at some point. I wouldn’t want to feud. Let’s just have fun, one night only. I don’t know how it would work, maybe in a tournament setting.”
Tag teams have been known to wrestle one another in AEW, with FTR being a leading example, as they competed against one another last year in a tournament setting. On the 27th of April, 2022 edition of Dynamite, Dax Harwood defeated Cash Wheeler in an Owen Hart Tournament match.
AEW has been giving a lot of focus to tournaments as of late. Therefore, if the Young Bucks believe that they are destined to face each other in a tournament setting, it might just happen sooner than expected.
When Was The Last Time The Young Bucks Wrestled Singles Matches?
According to cagematch.net, Matt Jackson’s last singles outing was in a 14-minute bout with Rey Fenix, on the 10th of March, 2021 edition of Dynamite. Matt ultimately lost this bout.
His brother Nick didn’t fare much better, with his last singles match taking place on the 21st of January, 2021 edition of Rampage. He would lose a 13-minute bout to Trent Beretta on this show.
After an episode of Dynamite, Dave Meltzer criticised a segment featuring The Young Bucks.
