Dominik Mysterio didn’t want to have dinner with his father after WWE WrestleMania 39.
At WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, CA, Dominik Mysterio went one on one with his father Rey Mysterio. It was a successful weekend all around for Rey as not only was he able to defeat his son on the Grandest Stage of Them All, he was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2023.
Speaking in a new interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Dominik revealed that he received an invitation to go to dinner with his family following the events inside SoFi Stadium, with the assurance that there would be no cameras or social media posts involved. However, the younger Mysterio declined. He told Barrasso:
“I just beat the f— out of him, I wasn’t going to dinner with him. So I had a street hot dog and spent the night in my hotel.”
Dominik Mysterio Opened Up About His Family Dynamic
Continuing, Dominik made it clear that he has too much respect for the wrestling business to let down his family name.
“I was raised on that old-school love of the business That’s a big part of our family dynamic. We have a lot of respect for the Mysterio name and this sport.
“I’m carrying lineage, my family, and history on my shoulders. My six godfathers, who are all legends, I’m not going to let them down.”
To highlight their family’s on-screen rivalry, Dominik and partner Rhea Ripley walked out of Rey Mysterio’s WWE Hall of Fame induction during WrestleMania 39 weekend.
