There are plenty WWE Superstars with outstanding potential, but The Rock has named Montez Ford as someone he believes has the “whole package” to make it far.
Given The Rock’s experience and knowledge of the wrestling industry, receiving his praise is no easy feat. At the height of his own career, ‘The Brahma Bull’ was a master at all aspects of wrestling, be it the actual physical side of things or being able to control a crowd.
On the current WWE roster, there is a seemingly endless cavalcade of WWE Superstars who could go far in the company but according to the former 8-time WWE Champion, Montez Ford has the “whole package”. The Street Profits man has been continuously praised for his immaculate body of work, both in NXT and on the main roster.
The Rock sang his praises while being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith, admitting his love for the former multi-brand WWE Tag Team Champion:
“I love that guy. I love his energy, I love his charisma, I love his work ethic, and, you know, in the world of pro wrestling, there’s nothing like the world of pro wrestling. It’s very unique and it’s also a business.
Professional wrestling, WWE, it’s in my blood, it’s my passion, I love it. So for a guy like him, he’s worked his butt off. By the way, they all do. Everybody in that locker room, the men, the women, but him in particular, he’s got great athleticism, he’s got the whole package.”
Although he’s been a member of The Street Profits alongside Angelo Dawkins for the vast majority of his WWE career, Montez Ford has been repeatedly heralded as one of the most gifted WWE performers. It’s not uncommon for Ford to perform inhumane flips over and off the ropes, often with nasty landings at ringside.
Lately, Montez has been linked with a singles run to truly capitalise on his potential in WWE, as reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. The Rock himself is seemingly in favour of this, having previously backed Ford to become a World Champion.
Together with Angelo Dawkins, Montez Ford is scheduled to challenge The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam in a rematch from their celebrated Money in the Bank clash.
