Shelton Benjamin Shares How Long Is Left On His AEW Contract

Shelton Benjamin Explains Reason Behind Shock Victory Over Triple H On WWE Raw

AEW star Shelton Benjamin has confirmed the length of his contract with Tony Khan’s promotion.

Appearing on HUGE POP!with Donnie DaSilva and Jimmy Korderas, Benjamin was asked how long he had signed with the company. After a brief pause to think, the 49-year-old revealed he had committed to a three-year deal.

“Uhhh, three years,” Benjamin stated.

Benjamin officially joined AEW in October 2024 after being released by WWE in September 2023. His current contract will see him stay with the company until October 2027, by which time he will be 52 years old.

Despite his age, Benjamin is not the oldest performer on Khan’s roster. That title belongs to Billy Gunn, who is currently 61 years old and still active. Wrestling history has seen even older competitors, with Mae Young holding the record. Young famously wrestled in a Handicap Match on the 15 November 2010 episode of Monday Night Raw at the remarkable age of 88.

Why Was Shelton Benjamin Absent From A Recent Segment Featuring The Hurt Syndicate On Dynamite?

On the April 2 episode of Dynamite, Bobby Lashley and MVP made their entrance for a segment with MJF, but it was noted that Shelton Benjamin was absent. The segment furthered the storyline of MJF potentially joining The Hurt Syndicate, and Benjamin addressed his absence on social media, stating that weather-related flight delays stopped him from being able to attend the event.

Also in the interview, Shelton Benjamin spoke about his time in Team Angle and how a Hall of Famer is an unsung hero in their success.
