According to Rob Van Dam, backstage at an AEW show is a very positive place to be.
In the most recent edition of his podcast, “1 Of A Kind,” Rob Van Dam went in-depth on his experience with All Elite Wrestling. Van Dam recently appeared on AEW Dynamite for the first time last week, where he helped out good friend Jerry Lynn in confronting the FTW Champion Jack Perry.
In light of the recent attention given to AEW’s backstage atmosphere, Rob Van Dam expressed a favourable perspective when questioned about it.
“Nothing bad, you know. I’m just trying to think of what I could say about it that would make it different. It’s not the big stressful production of WWE, it’s definitely not a small little indie show either. It’s somewhere in between, but closer to WWE. But when I’ve done TV for international shows that my fans wouldn’t know about, like in the UK or Australia, maybe I would [compare it to that] as far as like the free air, people are walking around genuinely happy to be there. I don’t know how to describe it as being… I can’t think of anything that was like, outstanding.”
Will Rob Van Dam Wrestle In AEW?
52-year-old Van Dam is currently scheduled to face Jack Perry for the FTW Championship on this week’s Dynamite. It will be the “Whole F’N Show”‘s first wrestling match since April, when he took on Channing Decker at IWC Superstar Showdown IV.
The FTW Title match was made after RVD’s confrontation with Jack Perry on last week’s Dynamite. Perry had been challenging ECW Legend Jerry Lynn to a fight, but as Lynn is retired, he decided to draft in close friend Rob Van Dam instead.
