Ricochet Vs. Zach Gowen Set For AEW Dynamite Beach Break

AEW has announced an unexpected showdown for next week’s Dynamite: Beach Break, as Ricochet will go one-on-one with former WWE star Zach Gowen.

The match was set up during this Thursday’s episode of Collision, where Gowen made a surprise appearance at ringside prior to the show going live. He later featured on commentary during Ricochet’s bout against Angelico.

Following Ricochet’s victory, the AEW star turned his attention to ringside security, aggressively taunting staff and even cutting the hair of one of the guards. Gowen, watching from ringside, intervened and attempted to stop the situation. However, Ricochet attacked him, stealing Gowen’s prosthetic leg and leaving him laid out in the ring.

The dramatic segment set the stage for the official announcement later in the programme: Ricochet will face Zach Gowen on Dynamite: Beach Break, airing Wednesday, 14 May, from Chicago’s Wintrust Arena.

Gowen, remembered for his unique 2003 WWE run, competed against major names including Vince McMahon, Matt Hardy, Brock Lesnar, and John Cena. Despite his brief WWE tenure, his one-legged wrestling style and underdog spirit left a lasting impression on fans.

Also confirmed for Beach Break is AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defending his title against Samoa Joe in a steel cage match, and Will Ospreay teaming with “Hangman” Adam Page against Konosuke Takeshita and Josh Alexander in tag team action.

Which NXT Star Did Ricochet Have A Recent Social Media Feud With?

Ricochet had a heated online discussion with NXT’s Je’Von Evans after he replied to a fan’s post online about how they see Evans as the best young prospect in wrestling right now. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion responded, saying he’d “squash” Evans in a match, leading to Evans responding and firing back at him.
