After months of absence, The Young Bucks returned at AEW Dynasty 2025.
In the main event of the Dynasty 2025 PPV, fans witnessed Jon Moxley defeat Swerve Strickland in an extremely lengthy match, after an aid from The Young Bucks. The finish also saw the involvement of Adam Page, The Death Riders, The Opps, and the returning EVPs, who helped Moxley retain.
The main event finish raised confusion amongst the fans. Following it up, on the recent 9th April episode of Dynamite, The Young Bucks appeared after Jon Moxley’s opening match, and explained their reasons.
While Matt and Nick Jackson came face-to-face with Moxley and Marina Shafir, the latter two swiftly left the ring as Nick Jackson spoke up. The two claimed that their AEW Dynasty return was to prevent Swerve Strickland from winning the title because of their love for Adam Page. The All Elite Wrestling EVPs had also attacked Strickland to offer Moxley and his Death Riders a peace offering.
Following this, Matthew Jackson proposed a collaboration between the Death Riders and The Elite, inviting Moxley and his partners to return to the ring. However, they would be interrupted by Kenny Omega. The Cleaner asked the Bucks about their actions and how they forgot to take him out.
Omega further claimed that it was The Young Bucks that killed the promotion, long before the Death Riders even existed. The segment was followed by a quick match between Pac and Strickland, where the former World champion won.
The Young Bucks Once Opened Up On Online criticism
In an AEW exclusive on social media,The Young Bucks opened up on receiving severe online criticism from the fans after their title win at the Tokyo Dome earlier this year.
“I think that now, you come back to a place like this, Tokyo, the Tokyo Dome to be more specific, and you enjoy these moments a little bit more. You get older, you realise there’s not a lot of these left. It’s really cool to have our children here and our wives, they got to see this. Who know if we’ll ever do this again, who knows if we’ll wrestle in this building again?
“So, I do not take this for granted [points at title belt]. It’s our second time being Heavyweight Tag Team Champions in New Japan. It feels amazing.”
