Nigel McGuinness has once again taken shots at Bryan Danielson ahead of their match at AEW Grand Slam.
Originally, the World Champion was scheduled to put the title on the line against Darby Allin inside Arthur Ashe Stadium. However, following on from the events that took place at All Out, which saw Danielson suffocated with a plastic bag, the champion’s involvement in the show is now in doubt.
With Jon Moxley now facing Allin for the number one contender spot at Grand Slam, McGuinness took advantage of the situation and declared that he would be the one to retire his former rival. While it is advertised that the match will take place if Danielson is cleared, fans are expecting the Danielson vs. McGuinness match to take place just over 15 years on from their previous match.
Confident of his chances on September 25th, the announcer took to social media to gloat about the upcoming match. Wearing a “Bryan fears Nigel” T-shirt, McGuinness stated that there has been no update from “Brittle Bryan Danielson” about his condition and declared that it was the start of “The Fragile Countdown”, which would also see daily updates from McGuinness. The commentator also called for the fans to take to social media and explain why the World Champion is a coward.
