On the final episode of WWE SmackDown before SummerSlam, fans witnessed championships change hands.
In the main event match, DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) defended their tag-team titles against The Bloodline (Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu). After a hard-hitting display, Fatu could snatch the victory from the hands of the hometown hero.
Cleveland’s own Johnny Gargano suffered the pinfall loss after consecutive Samoan drops, moonsaults, and an impaler DDT. Toward the closing moments of the show, Solo Sikoa adorned himself with the titles and roared in victory.
Tomorrow night, Solo Sikoa will face Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship in a Bloodline Rules match, as the rumored return of Roman Reigns still hangs in question.
Zilla Fatu Comments On Roman Reigns’ WWE Return
During a recent interview with MuscleMan Malcolm, Zilla Fatu opened up on Roman Reigns’ return to the promotion.
I don’t know. He doesn’t tell anybody anything. So, right now, it’s like, he’s very unpredictable. But when he does come back, it’s going to be crazy.”
Fatu had previously commented on his desire to join forces with The Bloodline, and even recently teased a partnership on Jacob Fatu’s post. Zilla Fatu was recently spotted in Cleveland during the SummerSlam week busy working his shows.
With the tag-team championships in The Bloodline now, Sikoa has to keep Cody Rhodes down and bring back the World Championship.
