MJF’s Next Challenger Revealed During AEW Dynamite

MJF celebrates with AEW World Championship at AEW Full Gear.

MJF will return to action on June 14th.

The AEW World Champion was contractually obligated to appear in Colorado on the June 7th edition of Dynamite, which only angered the champion further. Following a series of insults directed at the live crowd, the salt of the Earth stated that no one is on his level, and therefore not worthy of a title shot.

MJF And Adam Cole Trade Series Of Insults On AEW Dynamite

You Know It’s All About The Boom then rang through the arena, bringing Adam Cole to confront the AEW World Champion. Maxwell Jacob Freidman would waste no time in angering the live crowd, denying Cole’s opportunity to do his signature Adam Cole Bay Bay greeting.

The champ at first appeared pleased to see Cole, stating that he admired his in-ring work and has followed in his footsteps. The mood then changed inside the arena when Friedman questioned what happened to the once great Panama Playboy.

A series of back and forth barbs ensued, with MJF mocking Cole’s physique, and Cole retorting with an accusation of his own directed at the champion.

Cole would fire back with some home truths of his own, refencing that MJF’s fiancĂ©e left him and that he can’t hold a relationship if his life depended on it.

The Generational Talent finally snapped, stating that he could beat Adam Cole at anytime. Cole stated that it looks like a match will be taking place in the near future.

It was later announced on Dynamite that a World Title Eliminator Match would take place between MJF and Adam Cole in 7 days time, where if Cole can defeat the holder of the Triple B, he will receive a World Championship opportunity in the near future.

If the match were to take place at Forbidden Door, Cole as an opponent would be a more preferable challenger than somebody from the New Japan roster. At the Double or Nothing Press Conference, The Generational Talent blasted the Japanese promotion, calling it an indie fed amongst other things.
