MJF Starring ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Breaks Huge Netflix Record

Former WWE Reportedly Set To Star Alongside MJF In 'Happy Gilmore 2'

MJF helped break a huge Netflix record.

A few days ago, on July 25th, fans were treated to the much-awaited release of the Adam Sandler-led film, ‘Happy Gilmore 2’. A direct sequel to the original 1996 film and directed by Kyle Newacheck, the comedy film on Netflix enjoyed a tremendous opening week.

Also featuring All Elite Wrestling’s MJF and WWE’s Becky Lynch, ‘Happy Gilmore 2′ broke a major record. As revealed by Netflix, the comedy film recorded 46.7M global viewers over the weekend. It also ranked number 1 in 47 different countries and was in the top 10 in 88 countries.

The film has now secured its position as the biggest U.S. opening ever for a Netflix film. Unfortunately, on a global scale, the film fell short of Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx’s ‘Back In Action’, which debuted with 46.8M global viewers over the first three days earlier this year.

MJF Has Shared His Feelings For This Former WWE Champion

In less than a week, Lyra Valkryia is scheduled to face Becky Lynch at SummerSlam 2025. However, ahead of their awaited bout, Lynch’s co-star MJF recently opened up on his honest feelings about Valkyria.

“I’m a big fan of Becky Lynch. Hate that Lyra (Valkyria) girl. I agree with Becky. [Lyra] stinks. I’m a staunch Becky Lynch supporter. If you have an issue with Becky Lynch, I have an issue with you. Not into this Lyra chick. Something is up with her. She’s probably a bad person.”
