MJF will be returning to the independent scene towards the end of the year.
The former World Champion has been announced for the upcoming Boca Raton Championship Wrestling event Festival of Fights on December 15th. Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s opponent for the show will be fellow AEW wrestler QT Marshall. AEW wrestlers The Righteous and Matt Taven will also be in action on the card.
This will be MJF’s first non-AEW match since August when he defended the American Championship against Michael Oku at RevPro’s Summer Sizzler Show. Friedman won the match and beat down Oku afterwards until Will Ospreay made the save.
Friedman last competed at All Out where he defeated Daniel Garcia after Garcia was responsible for Friedman’s loss to Ospreay at All In 2 weeks prior.
MJF Confirmed For Full Gear
Currently away from TV as he is set to star in Happy Gilmore 2 and other movie roles, the former World Champion has been appearing via video to further along his feud with Adam Cole, who recently returned to action following his surprise return at WrestleDream. With Cole and Roderick Strong each wanting to get their hands on Friedman, the former International Champion stated that whoever gets 3 wins in a row first would face him at Full Gear, in what is likely to be his next match in All Elite Wrestling.
QT Marshall will also be in action at the pay-per-view as he will take on Costco Guy A.J. on the pre-show.
