It has been reported that MJF is set to be questioned by investigators looking into the CM Punk/Elite brawl following AEW All Out.
In the opening match of AEW All Out the Casino Ladder Match was interrupted by a group of masked figures all dressed in black who laid waste to everyone in the match. After one of the figures climbed to the top of the ladder and retrieved the casino chip, they handed it to another masked man who entered the match as the ‘joker’ to Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones.
In the main event CM Punk reclaimed the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley before the masked figure revealed themselves to be MJF. After the big reveal backstage, the star confronted the new champion as the show went off the air.
However, MJF’s big return was quickly overshadowed by events after the show which saw Punk launch a verbal assault on a number of stars and company EVP’s, before a brawl erupted backstage.
It has since been reported that a third-party have been brought in to investigate the incident and speak to everyone who was involved or witnessed the chaos. Interestingly, it appears that MJF also witnessed the brawl and will be interviewed.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer broke down the situation.
“The company has brought in an independent firm to investigate and do video interviews with everyone in the room, which included all the names mentioned above, as well as many others, including a number of neutral parties who were in the room and were believed to have seen everything as it happened.
The key names that would have included were Max “MJF” Friedman and AEW and Jacksonville Jaguars Chief Legal Officer Megha Parekh.”
On the September 7th edition of AEW Dynamite MFJ took to the ring microphone in hand for the first time since his now infamous “pipe-bomb” back in June. The star heavily leaned into his apparent desire to join WWE, name-dropping a number of WWE stars and executives.
