AEW star MJF opens up on why wrestling fans should show their respect towards this genuine tag team in the business.
Current American Champion MJF has been one of the most popular names in the industry and has carved himself into one of the pillar figures in AEW. As part of the promotion since day one, he named why it has been possible because of The Young Bucks, and why they deserve the respect.
During a recent interview with WrestleTalk, MJF displayed his gratitude for the EVPs of AEW and explained the reason behind his statement.
I’m going to do something I rarely do, and I’m going to put them over. They are innovators. The company does not exist without them. There are a lot of people that come into All Elite Wrestling, this company has been around for over five years now, I was there since before day one. I was at All In before the company even existed. I’m one of the few left that was a genuine day one guy.”
Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega were a few of the prime figures alongside Tony Khan to establish this promotion as a rival to WWE. Starting as one of the top guys in the promotion, The Salt of the Earth explained that often new names fail to show The Young Bucks the respect they deserve.
The former World Champion credited The Young Bucks as the innovators of the Jacksonville-based promotion, and how his career would not have been possible without the two of them.
I was in the first match in AEW history, the Casino Battle Royale where I defeated Hangman Page and cut a great promo on Bret Hart. None of that happens without Matt and Nick Jackson. I think it’s unfortunate that, if new people come into my company, they should be showing them that respect that they earned and deserves. I feel the fans should be showing them that respect they earned and deserved.”
In recent news, Jey Uso shocked fans with a surprise alliance with a former rival.
MJF Shares The Locker Room Situation In AEW
In the same interview with WrestleTalk, MJF opened up on the current locker room situation in the promotion, and the bond each wrestler shares there.
The locker room has never been tighter. It’s never been a better work environment. This is based on everything I’ve been told. Nobody talks to me or hangs out with me, and I like it that way. It seems like everyone is unified, not just in hating me, but they all seem to be getting along.”
MJF was reportedly involved in a scuffle with Britt Baker a few weeks ago, however, the wolf of pro-wrestling dismissed the rumors and challenged the validity of it.
