MJF could have utilised a legendary finisher as part of his repertoire if a WWE Hall of Famer allowed it.
Throughout his AEW career, Maxwell Jacob Friedman has won most of his matches with either the Heatseeker, the Salt of the Earth armbar or with assistance from the Dynamite Diamond Ring. However, in an alternate timeline, the former World Champion could have put many of his opponents away with the Diamond Cutter, popularised by Diamond Dallas Page.
While appearing on Hey! (EW), QT Marshall spoke about being handed down the finisher from DDP and how some fans hate that he was the one to be granted permission, adding that Friedman was not offered the same response:
“I actually enjoy when people say the diamond cutter handed down from Diamond Dallas Page because people hate it. They hate that of all the professional wrestlers in the world, he chose me. So, I want to keep putting that out to the world. So… for those fans out there watching, DDP chose me. Could have been MJF, could have been anyone else. He chose me. In fact, MJF asked for it, and he said no.”
QT Marshall will face CostCo Guy AJ on the pre-show of AEW Full Gear on November 23rd.
MJF Set For Non-AEW Appearance
While reigning as the International Champion earlier in the year, Friedman made the trip to the UK to put the title on the line against Michael Oku at a RevPro show. Later in the year, MJF will be making another appearance on the indies and will be competing in a match.
In recent news, MJF squared off with Big Boom AJ at a recent independent event.
