Matt Cardona Teases WWE Return

Matt Cardona Backstage At Raw, WWE Return Rumoured

Matt Cardona tells Vince McMahon that he is coming home.

Cardona had a rough time at GCW Homecoming on August 19th, where he teamed with Steph De Lander to take on Nick Gage and Maki Itoh in a Tag Team Deathmatch, losing the bloody battle at the event.

Frustrated with the violent affair and having their moment ruined, Cardona posted a series of social media updates to address his future on the Indies. First, Cardona posted a bloody picture of himself and De Lander and declared that he had over 200 reasons why he does not want to step inside a GCW ring again.

In a follow-up post, the former GCW Champion is seen driving down the highway in Stamford, Connecticut past a familiar building. As the WWE headquarters appears in view, Cardona utters the following statement:

I’m coming home, Vince. No more of this indie bullsh*t. No more being disrespected in GCW. Vince, I’m coming home! Chelsea I’m coming, wait for me!

Will Matt Cardona Return To WWE?

Despite the declaration made by the former Intercontinental Champion on social media that he is returning for one more run, The Deathmatch King has previously stated it is unlikely that he will sign with one company exclusively in the near future. However, if the creative direction is promising enough, he would consider it.

The drive past Titan Towers is the latest in multiple teases from the former Zack Ryder to make wrestling fans believe he might make a surprise return. Whilst wife Chelsea Green was looking for a new tag team partner so that she could remain champion, Cardona did offer his services to prevent the titles from being relinquished once again. The search for a new partner was short-lived, as Piper Niven declared that she woudl be Green’s new partner.

In recent news, Matt Cardona posted on X stating that he “needs to go back to WWE.”
