Man Of 1,004 Roles: Chris Jericho Wants New Career On Broadway

Chris Jericho can see himself standing on a different stage.

One of the most diverse performers in the history of wrestling, few can say that they have headlined a WrestleMania, played the main stage at Download Festival or starred in multiple Hollywood movies, whereas Jericho has done all 3!

Hoping to achieve another career first, Jericho wants to become the first wrestler to be a star on Broadway.

Speaking with The Messenger, the former AEW World Champion discussed how he can use his talents to diversify into other areas. While Jericho is aware that his skills are not transferrable for ice hockey, his ability to sing and act could see him in an upcoming production:

“I never, ever put myself in a box for anything that I do. I’m an entertainer. If I said I wanted to play center for the L.A. Kings, it’s probably not going to happen. But if I say I want to do Broadway, why not? “I can act, I can sing,” Jericho continued. “I understand what it’s like to be in front of a crowd. Anything that’s in that world for me, I’m open to it.”

Jericho continued the interview by stating that any opportunity could come along at any time, much like his role in the upcoming movie “Country Hearts”:

“I could get an offer to do Broadway tomorrow,” he said, “and if it came my way, I would seriously consider it. I never thought I’d get an offer to play an ex-rock star father who is now a horse breeding farmer.”

AEW fans have already gotten a taste of what to expect if Jericho starred in a Broadway show. Back in 2020, Jericho and MJF performed “Me and My Shadow” on an episode of Dynamite. The performance was praised by The New York Times, who named it one of the best performances of that year.

In recent news, Chris Jericho spoke about how the Jericho cruise came together.
