Major Free Agent Believed To Be Joining AEW

A future AEW signing looks to have been confirmed as an international star’s contract recently ran out.

First signing with Stardom in 2021, Thekla captured the Goddess of Stardom and Artist of Stardom Championships once. Now that her agreement with the promotion has come to an end, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select is reporting that the Austrian wrestler is making her way to the United States for the next stage of her career.

The report notes that when Fightful asked WWE about the free agent in 2024 around the time that Giulia signed with the promotion, those within the company “had their eye on her.” However, there was also said to be major interest from All Elite Wrestling along with multiple independent promotions enquiring about future bookings. The report concludes by stating that those within AEW believe that the former Stardom star is on her way to the company soon.

If Thekla does become All Elite, she will join former Stardom wrestlers Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa as those who have signed with the promotion over the past few years.

Former AEW Star Talks Missed Dream Match

Although All Elite Wrestling have made a number of major signings in 2025, there have also been multiple notable departures, many of which were former champions. In a recent interview, one former AEW star stated that they hoped to have a match against Will Ospreay before their exit.

In other news, Adam Copeland gave an insight as to when he believes his in-ring career will come to an end.

In recent news, AEW is set for a multi-week residency at the iconic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, better known to fans as the ECW Arena.
