Kurt Angle Names His Surprising Pick For The True MVP Of IMPACT Wrestling

Sting Kurt Angle

After a sensational run in WWE, Kurt Angle departed the company in 2006 and spent the next decade in TNA, later rebranded as IMPACT Wrestling.

Superstars such as AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe cut their teeth in the promotion alongside established stars such as Angle, Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, Booker T and Sting. Despite such an impressive array of names, the Olympic Gold Medalist has singled out a different personality as the MVP of the company.

Speaking on a recent edition of The Kurt Angle Show, the former TNA Champion revealed that he believed Jeremy Borash to be a vital part of the company’s success:

“Oh, Jeremy was the MVP of the company, he really was. Not only did he interview guys and do all that stuff, but he did all the editing for the pay-per-view commercials and the storylines. Every week, he did all this stuff and turned it in. He was our he was our producer, director, everything. I mean he did it all, the whole ball of wax.”

Kurt Angle Joins Nick Aldis In Praise Of Borash

Former NWA Champion Nick Aldis is another who has praised Borash for his contrbution to TNA, noting in an interview with Metro that he was a key figure behind the company’s focus on the UK market:

“I’ve always tried to instill a culture that the British fans can’t feel like they come second. Let’s face it, for a long time, it was pretty obvious that that’s the case. The UK was the second-best market, but it was by a long way and they were always treated as such.

I think some of that started to change with TNA, I think TNA deserves a lot of credit for that. They had such a strong following and because of the efforts of people – not just me, but people like Jeremy Borash and others who were very keenly aware of how much the UK wrestling market was set to explode, really pushed that agenda of ‘If we treat these guys like equals, they’re not gonna be satisfied anymore in a global market with table scraps. They want their own main course.”

Borash would go on to join WWE in 2018 and was described by Kevin Nash as ‘Triple H’s right-hand man’.
