Konosuke Takeshita AEW

Konosuke Takeshita’s first AEW International Championship match is now confirmed.

At WrestleDream, Will Ospreay defended his International title against Ricochet and Konosuke Takeshita in an unfortunate losing effort. After a shocking betrayal from Kyle Fletcher, Ospreay failed to focus on the match and eventually lost the title to Takeshita.

Soon after his title victory, PWInsider announced Konosuke Takeshita’s first title defense as Canadian wrestling promotion, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling later confirmed the match. It was announced that TNA star Josh Alexander will face Takeshita for the title on October 20 at MLP Forged In Excellence.

At the WrestleDream media scrum, Don Callis and Takeshita promised to defend the title worldwide, and it seems their journey has already begun.

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Forged In Excellence is scheduled for October 19 & 20, 2024, at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Both shows will air live on Triller TV as pay-per-view events.
