The AEW locker room thinks very highly of Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy.
The main event of the All Out pay-per-view saw Mox defeat Cassidy to become the new International Champion, ending Cassidy’s 31-match streak of successful title defences, more than anyone in the history of the promotion.
With the quality of the match and the outcome, many fans online felt that this was the right match to go on last in Chicago. The sentiment was echoed by AEW talent Serpentico, who revealed that the talent also thinks very highly of the current and now former champion:
Can’t overstate how much the locker room looks up to Orange Cassidy & Jon Moxley. Aces. #AEWAllOut
The match itself was a violent affair, with Cassidy busted open early on in the match. It was very apparent in the bout that multiple physical defences had caught up to Cassidy as his body was taped up and big moves were less effective. Despite being worn down, the former International Champion would not stay down easily as Moxley would need to hit multiple Death Riders to win the match and the title.
While praised by the roster, Cassidy has become a divisive figure in the wrestling fanbase. While some have praised the unique style, others prefer a more traditional presentation. In an exclusive interview with Inside The Ropes, Cassidy has revealed that he is not bothered by what critics think of him.
Jon Moxley Praises Terry Funk
With his hardcore style and never-say-die attitude, Moxley has been heavily inspired by the late great Terry Funk in his career. Moxley has stated that he believes that Funk is the greatest wrestler of all time, citing his believability and willingness to give back to wrestling as some of his best qualities.
