Jon Moxley‘s ally makes an emotional announcement after being forced to forfeit.
Jon Moxley has found himself several allies with the Death Riders, even Matt and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks. Another name that helped him in AEW was Gabe Kidd, who began to aid the former World Champion in May, up until All In, when the belt was dropped to Adam Page. Unfortunately, it looks like Jon will be down a man for a while.
On the second night of NJPW’s G1 Climax action, Gabe Kidd came out on crutches and told the crowd that he would have to forfeit his tournament match against Zack Sabre Jr. due to a knee injury.
Still, Jon Moxley’s AEW ally noted that this doesn’t mean he will be out of the tournament entirely. It’s also shared that the cause of the injury is that he hyperextended it during his first G1 match against Konosuke Takeshita yesterday.
Tonight's G1 Night 2 main event… Zack Sabre Jr. vs Gabe Kidd is not happening anymore. Gabe will be forfeiting due to a knee injury after being on crutches.
Really hope Gabe isn't completely ruled out of the tournament.

Despite being an NJPW star, Gabe played a huge role in Moxley keeping the AEW World Championship for a while. Aside from assisting Jon at Beach Break, Kidd also helped the Death Riders in their Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing before being chased off by Mark Briscoe.
At All In: Texas, Gabe teamed with Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta in an attempt to dethrone The Opps for the World Trios Championship. At the event’s headliner, Moxley vs. Page, Kidd attempted to assist Jon but was chased off again by Bryan Danielson and Darby Allin.
Jon Moxley Ended AEW Collision With A Bloody Former WWE Star
In the recent Collision show, Chicago’s own Colt Cabana joined Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness on the commentary booth. However, his enjoyment was cut short when Jon Moxley and the rest of the Death Riders brutally attacked him, leading to Colt being bloodied.
The former World Champion wrapped a chain around the former WWE star’s neck and tossed him over the ropes and let him dangle, like what Hangman did to Moxley at All In: Texas.
