John Laurinaitis’ attorney issued a new statement claiming Laurinaitis is a victim just like Janel Grant.
On January 25th, Wall Street Journal reported that former WWE employee Janel Grant had filed a new lawsuit against Vince McMahon. The lawsuit contains horrifying allegations and graphic descriptions of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking at the hands of McMahon and former Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis.
The suit is seeking to void a previous NDA and for financial damages, which the amount is unspecified. This is the latest in allegations about McMahon that began back in 2022 when it was reported that the WWE Chairman paid $12 million in hush money to four women.
John Laurinaitis was released from WWE in 2022 amidst the investigation into alleged misconduct. Former WWE star Rene Dupree claimed at the time the allegations published against Laurinaitis were just the “tip of the iceberg.”
However, in a new statement issued to VICE, Laurinaitis’ attorney Ed Brennan claims that his client is a victim in the same way as plaintiff Janel Grant. According to Brennan, the accusations against Laurinaitis in Grant’s lawsuit are false.
“Mr. Laurinaitis denies the allegations in the misguided complaint and will be vigorously defending these charges in Court, not the media. Like the Plaintiff, Mr. Laurinaitis is a victim in this case, not a predator. The truth will come out.”
In regards to Vince McMahon, a former WWE referee has blasted the disgraced former Chairman.
“Vince McMahon Exerts Control Over Both Of Them” – John Laurinaitis’ Attorney
When VICE asked the attorney to clarify his claims and if McMahon was considered the predator in this case, Brennan confirmed, saying:
“Read the allegations. Read the Federal Statute. Power, control, employment supervisory capacity, dictatorial sexual demands with repercussions if not met. Count how many times in the complaint Vince exerts control over both of them.”
WWE Hall of Famers The Bella Twins also recently addressed the allegations against their stepfather John Laurinaitis and WWE.
