John Cena’s WWE return will be much longer than originally anticipated.
It was previously announced that Cena would be appearing live on the September 1st episode of SmackDown and competing at the upcoming international event, but more dates have been added to the Cena tour.
As announced by WWE, on top of the 2 previously confirmed appearances the 16-time World Champion will begin a 7-week consecutive run beginning on September 15th and ending on October 27th.
It has also been announced that the Hollywood star will be taking part in Make-A-Wish appearances in each of the 8 cities that SmackDown is visiting in September and October. With more than 650 wishes granted across the world, Cena has made more appearances for the organisation than anyone in history.
At the time of writing, Cena has only been announced for TV appearances and neither of the Premium Live Events, which are Payback on September 2nd and Fastlane on October 7th.
John Cena Set To Wrestle In India For The First Time Ever
Continuing to make history in his 20-year-plus career, the WWE legend will travel to GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in September to be a part of the Superstar Spectacle show in India. Following the announcement that Cena will be having his first match since WrestleMania at the event, it has now been revealed who his opponents will be on September 8th.
With cross-brand appearances occasionally seen on weekly programming, there is a possibility that Cody Rhodes may make an appearance on the blue brand and stand across the ring from Cena. If the two WrestleMania main eventers were to have a singles match, it would be the first time in over 10 years that this would take place. During a recent AMA, Rhodes stated that he had asked Cena to consider the idea.
