Joe Doering Taking In-Ring Hiatus To Battle Brain Cancer

Joe Doering

IMPACT Wrestling have announced that Joe Doering will be stepping away from the ring after he was diagnosed with brain cancer for a second time.

Sadly Joe Doering is now on hiatus after it was revealed that he is once again battling brain cancer. The IMPACT Wrestling star was first diagnosed back in 2016, but fought back to return to the ring, despite doctors insisting that his career was over.

Doering informed IMPACT at the Lone Star Stampede Events in Dallas, Texas.

In a statement posted by IMPACT Wrestling, Doering said that he was determined to prove doctors wrong for a second time.

“They told me in 2016 that I would never wrestle again, and I proved them wrong. Guess I’m going to have to do it again. I try to not get too sad or emotional about it. Staying positive really helped me the first time, and that’s what I’ll do again.”

Please keep me in your thoughts and spirits. I hope to get back in the ring again very soon. To the IMPACT Wrestling locker room: you are family to me and I look forward to seeing you again very, very soon.”

IMPACT Wrestling Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore echoed the thoughts of fans around the world, by sending his best wishes to the star.

“I know our fans and the wider wrestling community will join everyone at IMPACT in keeping Joe and his wife Lindsay in their thoughts and prayers. Joe loves pro wrestling and we all look forward to him returning to action when he’s ready.”

In 2016 after undergoing treatment which included surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, Joe Doering returned to action within a year, although he was warned by doctors the disease could return.

Doering is set to undergo surgery for a second time in the coming weeks.

Everyone at Inside The Ropes would like to wish Joe Doering a speedy recovery.
